False Friends

Verse Your Answer Correct/Incorrect
“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”
(Genesis 2:18)
He’s talking about the woman, or giving a wife. Incorrect
“Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”
(1 Timothy 4:3)
To abstain from eating any kind of certain food. There’s certain food that Israelis were not to eat according to their law, the Bible. Unclear
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
(2 Timothy 2:15)
It means to study the Bible, the Word of God. Incorrect
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”
(1 Kings 18:21)
I know halt usually means to stop. But in this case he’s giving them a decision to make whether to follow God or to follow Baal. Halt is to stop following God, I guess. How long will you halt between the two? In other words, make a decision to follow God or Baal. Incorrect
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”
(1 Corinthians 15:19)
If we only have hope in this life and there’s no afterlife, we’re most miserable. But we have hope in life everlasting; we go to heaven if we’re Christians. Incorrect
Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.”
(Proverbs 22:28)
I have a message on that very subject. The landmark is the word of God. To not move it would be to not add or take away from it. In other words to follow God directly and straight on, neither to the right nor to the left. To not remove the landmark says that God has laid down his landmark and we are not to take away from it. Incorrect
“Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.”
(1 Kings 8:25)
In other words, here again is to follow the word of God, what thus saith the Lord. Incorrect
“Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.”
(Philippians 4:15)
The Philippians were the only ones who came to his rescue, helped, and gave gifts back to Jerusalem. They got in touch with him, spoke to him, came to see him. They cared for him. Unclear
“Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”
(Matthew 13:21)
That person, because he’s a Christian or believes in God and is following God, is offended because of that. Incorrect
“These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.”
(John 16:1)
When they were accused because they were Christians, they shouldn’t be offended because of that. Some people where I am are offended because I do stand on the KJV. Almost every church in my town is against me because I am KJVO. Incorrect
