False Friends

Verse Your Answer Correct/Incorrect
“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”
(Genesis 2:18)
The simple terminology would be someone there to help you. Of course it’s talking about Eve. Someone to fulfill your life or help you do what you need to do. Like a partner or assistant. Incorrect
“Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”
(1 Timothy 4:3)
Not take part in. That is talking about how in the Old Testament times God told them not to eat certain meat such as hogs, which were not clean animals. Incorrect
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
(2 Timothy 2:15)
Study would be to check out. It would be to compare what someone might say if it’s according to God’s Word, to look into. Incorrect
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”
(1 Kings 18:21)
It means to debate, to not choose, to question, to wonder. Because they were trying to follow both Baal and God, and Elijah was trying to get them to choose one or the other. Incorrect
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”
(1 Corinthians 15:19)
The verse is talking about if all we have is hope in this earth and not in heaven, then we’re miserable. If it’s only through Christ on this earth, we’re miserable. But if he is risen, we have eternal life in heaven. It’s showing the importance of his resurrection. Incorrect
Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.”
(Proverbs 22:28)
To do away, to destroy. Incorrect
“Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.”
(1 Kings 8:25)
He’s telling them if you want there to always to be a relative of David to sit on the throne then this is what you must do: You must live for me, you must worship me. That was the key. Correct
“Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.”
(Philippians 4:15)
None fellowshipped with him or had anything to do with him. No one would help in the ministry. There was nobody that would help him. Unclear
“Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”
(Matthew 13:21)
Continually or from time to time. Incorrect
“These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.”
